It all began with a man and his beer. In 1990, David Tindol bought a drive-thru beer store in Uvalde, Texas. Before long, loyal patrons developed a thirst for more, because nothing quenches your thirst on a hot Texas day quite like a frozen daiquiri to go. While drive-thru daiquiris had been done before in Texas, they had been made with cheap “wino” wine up to that time. So David set out to find the perfect neutral alcohol—that was still legally classified as a wine—for making frozen drinks. Through a painstaking process of trial and tasting, the potions were perfected, and in 1998, Specialty Blends was born.
Today, Specialty Blends proudly produces an extensive line of wine-based liquor alternatives, infusions, and mixers. From our signature line of spirit alternatives, you can craft any cocktail imaginable. That’s right. If you can dream it, you can drink it. And you can legally serve it with only a wine and beer permit.
Our winery is located in the heart of the Hill Country, Dripping Springs, Texas—home to many locally-owned breweries, distilleries, and wineries that have put our friendly Texas town on the map as a budding hub of the alcohol industry.
